First day at nursery
I knew it had to happen, but I was feeling pretty apprehensive and sad this morning. At 9am my 3 year old daughter (Connie) was to start nursery. In her new bag was a packed lunch, a change of clothes and a nappy!
Apart from the occasional visits to her friends across the road, or a couple of hours spent with relatives, Connie has never been without me or Abigail since she was born. I knew she would benefit from interaction with other children, the learning opportunities and all that, but I still didn’t want to let my little girl go.
Anyway, we made it there this morning. Connie was ready to play and meet people immediately, and didn’t really bat an eyelid when we left her.
6 hours later I went back, and was told by staff that she had a brilliant first day, and that she was very assertive! Good for her.
Here are Connie’s comments on her first day…

That is adorable!
They have such a good time playing with the other kids, though. I wish now I’d sent my 5-yr-old; he’s very polite and well-behaved, but on the shy side.
